This book is an excellent reflection of the hit Nintendo game Splatoon 2。 Four Inklings bonded together over Turf War in Inkopolis Plaza come together in an epic competition against formidable opponents。 Will they win? Telling you would ruin the book, so read it yourself!

Actually a pretty fun read! Even though it has some geeky wording and it's based on a kids game, I find myself enjoying it。 I also love the fun and competitive aspect of it。 Actually a pretty fun read! Had me laughing out loud。 The cast of characters are so fun; and the book has a subtle message of ‘winning doesn’t matter, having fun and being with your friends is what matters, I love that。 This book won’t make you think much, or at all really, but it will make you smile。 And sometimes that’s all we need。

Personally as a huge Splatoon fan I was disappointed reading this。 I don't get the hype。 And the names are absolute sh*t like they just name them after the gear。 The only thing holding it up is the art and Splatoon。 I don't recommend it you're a Splatoon fan。 Personally as a huge Splatoon fan I was disappointed reading this。 I don't get the hype。 And the names are absolute sh*t like they just name them after the gear。 The only thing holding it up is the art and Splatoon。 I don't recommend it you're a Splatoon fan。 。。。more

Quick read, D likes it b/c he and Andrew like to play the game Splatoons on the Nintendo Switch (and before that on the wii U)。 I haven't personally read any of these book in this series, but I read some reviews online and the character's pants fall down often in the books, I guess to be funny, and they "censor" the comic drawing with the squid character。。。 not my favorite book series that he's read, but man can he read through these books in a flash! summer reading。。。。。 Quick read, D likes it b/c he and Andrew like to play the game Splatoons on the Nintendo Switch (and before that on the wii U)。 I haven't personally read any of these book in this series, but I read some reviews online and the character's pants fall down often in the books, I guess to be funny, and they "censor" the comic drawing with the squid character。。。 not my favorite book series that he's read, but man can he read through these books in a flash! summer reading。。。。。 。。。more

This manga is a must read for any fan of the popular Nintendo games or honestly most manga fans who love cute little comedies。 The adorable art fits the world well and the story is super fun。 The cherry on top is the laugh-out-loud humor that I think will tickle any reader whether they’re young or an adult。 An enjoyable manga based on one of my all time favorite games!

First impression; A Nintendo based book? Yes please! How was it? Well。。 Over all I think the book is at best OK but really I think it's better than a two star review compared to other books I've read。 I should also say I've never play Splatoon but I do have a decent understanding about the functions of the game。 CoverYou know this what I would expect a Splatoon Cover to look like。 Main character filling the entire image。 Have to give them credit that it is technically tied in to the back cover i First impression; A Nintendo based book? I don't mean just once。 This running joke is in the book seven times! By the end of the series I can't tell if he's going to learn to keep clothes on or become a nudist。 Also what is the deal with Nintendo stripping their characters in books? Happened to Mario in Super Mario Adventures comic collection。 With that weird part out of the way let I still think the characters are really charming。 Rider is probably the most interesting and deepest character in the book。 The fight strategy between Specs and Goggles is probably the highlight of the book and feels almost the most realistic。I have to admit the realistic squid did give me a chuckle。I do hope there's going to be more to Bobble Hat and Headphone than just their outfit personalities and smiling。 Overall it is as weird and quirky as you would expect from family friendly Nintendo all the way down to the footnotes。 。。。more

I really enjoyed reading about one of my favorite Nintendo Switch games, Splatoon 2。 Volume one of Splatoon is about the Turf Wars in Inkopolis。 ~ Koala ^-^

A confusing decision, this adaptation of the popular Nintendo online multiplayer video game does not adapt any of the story elements directly。 It rather tells an original story of a team of Inklings that are themselves competiting in the Turf War - the contest that comprises the primary gamemode of Splatoon proper。 Each issue in this volume sees the team face off against rival Inklings in a match of the Turf War - and while there's fun to be had, it is frustratingly repetitive and formulaic。Gran A confusing decision, this adaptation of the popular Nintendo online multiplayer video game does not adapt any of the story elements directly。 It rather tells an original story of a team of Inklings that are themselves competiting in the Turf War - the contest that comprises the primary gamemode of Splatoon proper。 Each issue in this volume sees the team face off against rival Inklings in a match of the Turf War - and while there's fun to be had, it is frustratingly repetitive and formulaic。Granted, this book is targeted at a younger audience - it is good-humoured, easy to read, and filled with expressive characters。 It doesn't need to hold anyone's attention for very long, and I imagine children will find themselves enamoured with the pleasant formula。 It begs another question, though - why did they choose to adapt Splatoon, a game about painting arenas in varied and highly saturated colours, into a format that is solely greyscale? 。。。more

-This review kinda covers vol 1- 7-If you have played Splatoon/seen it, you'll know what is going on and can follow along。 If you don't know about it or seen/played before, then it's a toss up。 You do get thrown into the mix right away, but I don't think it's that big of a deal cause there is plenty of other stories like that。 Finishing the first volume, you know what is going on and go along with the story, even if you never seen/heard of the game before。 I think that this is a great juvenile s -This review kinda covers vol 1- 7-If you have played Splatoon/seen it, you'll know what is going on and can follow along。 If you don't know about it or seen/played before, then it's a toss up。 You do get thrown into the mix right away, but I don't think it's that big of a deal cause there is plenty of other stories like that。 Finishing the first volume, you know what is going on and go along with the story, even if you never seen/heard of the game before。 I think that this is a great juvenile series for anyone to read。 It's fast paced, plenty of action, and there is morals that I think are pretty important。 All the characters are unique to themselves and interact well within their team and outside of the turf。 There is the turf wars, which is the action takes place, and the whole series revolves around them。 The Blue Team teaches that having fun with your friends and trying your best, it doesn't matter if you win or lose。 It's all about the fun。 They also teach and show other teams this, and have a good influence on them to be better。 The only thing that I really didn't like about this, is that the 'nudity' is overplayed too much by the main character, Goggles。 I get it。 It's kid humor cause being naked is funny to them。 But it's too much。 He's always shows up naked, ends up naked in battle, and pants every male character he makes friends with。 I feel like they gave Goggles too many personality traits that he gets kinda annoying/overused。 He's always naked, hungry/eating, very aloof, supports and believes in his team and others。 He's just an overwhelming character。 。。。more

it's a splatoon manga so i'm not really expecting much from it and it was funny to read like it's enjoyable as someone who loves the game (and i have to be biased in loving Rider since he uses a gold dynamo roller and so do i。。。 but i would also die for bobble hat and headphones) BUT i don't understand why the manga is structured the way that it is。 it seems to me like it should be one battle per volume and working up to S+ ranks (which don't really matter in turf wars? This novel is about Inklings, who can change through squid and the human form。 There are also turf wars that they play in。 This book is about team blue, who consist of Goggle, Headphones, Glasses, and Beanie。 These are their actual names。 And they also face the warrior is an S+。 There are ranks and the Blue teams are pretty bad

I think this was a very charming and funny book, it gets right to the action from the start。 It's not slow at any points what so ever, and it has very likable characters。 On the Ali rating scale, this gets a 5/5。 Can't wait to read Vol。2! Content warnings: use of (paintball) gunsI started playing Splatoon 2 in April this year and I have been loving it ever since。 Thought I’d give this a bash coz Splatoon + reading seems like a good combo and I was right! I’ve not managed to play Splatoon 1 yet so I missed out on some of the references, but it was a fun light comic read!

it was good。 my favorite match was against team pink with aloha, a pro player that can dodge almost any move。

This is one heck of a fun, awesome book (well, manga)! The actions got intense, the characters are cool and funny (especially Goggles), and it’s definitely like the games。 The play-by-play of each match is unique, and I like it。 I can’t wait to see what Team Blue will be up to next!

My sister is a big Nintendo Fan。 In fact, I love Nintendo too。 Splatoon 2 was one of the many Switch games I've played and I have enjoyed it a lot。 So when I found out there was a Splatoon manga, I got excited。 A Nintendo property as a manga!? Not something I would normally pick up, but my son insisted I read it。 I do love playing Splatoon, so I had some interest and am already familiar with the topic。Overall, a fun comic (sorry, graphic novel) that points its humor and fast paced story telling directly at the under 13 year old audience。 Being from Japan, the story actually reads backwards which makes it an interesting challenge for readers。The humor doesn't go too far, in my opinion, despite having "nudity"。 It really is childish nai Not something I would normally pick up, but my son insisted I read it。 I do love playing Splatoon, so I had some interest and am already familiar with the topic。Overall, a fun comic (sorry, graphic novel) that points its humor and fast paced story telling directly at the under 13 year old audience。 Being from Japan, the story actually reads backwards which makes it an interesting challenge for readers。The humor doesn't go too far, in my opinion, despite having "nudity"。 It really is childish naivety without any sexual overtones。 Think along the lines of Calvin & Hobbes。 The only part I could have done without is the background name calling of stupid & idiot。 Being this is aimed at young readers, more appropriate words could have been chosen to keep it in line with the overall playful theme of the story。 。。。more
